Bayona

Bayonassa huomaamme, että purjehduskausi ei olekaan vielä ohi näillä leveysasteilla. Satamassa onkin paljon pitkänmatkanpurjehtijoita. Tämän selittää Bayonan sijainti kartalla, koska se sijaitsee aivan purjehdusreitin varrella. Lähes kaikki veneet ovat matkalla etelän suuntaan joko Välimerelle tai Kanarialle ja sieltä eteenpäin.
Joshua tunnistetaan jälleen. "What a wonderful boat you have" kuullaan useammasta suusta , minkä jälkeen kapteenin askel on entistä kevyempi. Tähän kohtaan sopii erään purjehtijan lausuma:"Life is too short to sail with an ugly boat."


Marina on kaupungin sydämessä. On mukava vaihtaa kuulumisia ja kertoa matkasuunnitelmista purjehtijoiden kanssa. Irlantilainen Sean, S/Y White Whisperin kippari, tulee tervehtimään meitä ja kertoo ottaneensa veneestämme kuvia Camarinaksen edustalla. Hän on matkalla samaan suuntaan ja sovimme hänen kanssaan yhteydenpidosta jatkossa.


Historia ja nykypäivä kohtaavat Bayonassa. Kiertelemme linnan raunioilla ja ihailemme jälleen kerran upeita merinäkymiä.
Viimeisenä iltana siirrymme redille, mistä seuraavana aamuna lähdemme kohti Portugalia.


In Bayona we realize that the sailing season is not yet over in these latitudes what we actually first thought. The harbour of Bayona is full of travellers who are heading with their boats either to Mediterranean or to Canary Islands and forward there from. The atmosphere is very international and warm. Sailors from different countries help each others in many ways and are telling about their sailing plans. This environment is very stimulating and makes you eager to continue your sailing. It is again a pleasure to mention that Joshua was regognized by sailors in Bayona harbour. Expression: " what a wonderful boat you have " made captain happy. In this phaze a proverb is worth mentioning: " life is too short to sail with an ugly boat ".
Captain of an irish sailing boat ( S/Y White Whisper ) takes conact and tells that he had some photos of Canace taken by him out of Camarinas. We are having the same sailing route and we decide to keep contact.
In Bayona the history and modern time shake hands. We are walking around the old castle surrounded by sea and are again admiring the wiew which is servered to us.
In the last evening we drop the anchor in the bay of Bayona and ready there from to start an early sailing next morning to Portugal.
